Do Computers Cause Acne?
Do computers cause acne?’ this may seem a very strange question to some people, but for others this is a serious issue. For many years there has been the stigma that people who love computers are ‘spotty geeks’. But is there a relation between acne and the use of computers?
The truth is computers do not cause acne however there is a link between the use of computers and acne. Here are a few of the causes:
Acne From a Dirty Keyboard
– Every time you touch your keyboard the bacteria and dirt on your hands are placed on the keys. Bacteria and dirt are some of the main causes of acne, if you don’t clean your keyboard then the filth will just keep building. It is a good idea to clean your keyboard with an antibacterial cleaning product especially if more than one person uses the computer. Another idea is to wash your hands before using the keyboard or to have a hand sanitizer next to the computer.
Acne From Face Touching – Did you know that your hands are one of the dirtiest parts of your body? There are less bacteria on your rump than on your hands, no joke! When using the computer many people may lean on their hand or touch their face. It is very easy when concentrating on a piece of work on the computer to touch your face and not even realize you’re doing it. If you struggle with not touching your face when on the computer a clean keyboard and some hand sanitizer should do the trick.
Acne From Computer Stress
– Stress is also a cause of spots. Many people experience stress when using a computer at work. The reason stress can cause spots is that when we are stressed the hormone levels in our bodies change which can cause spots. Not becoming stressed at work isn’t the easiest task ever. Considering the negative impact stress can have in so many areas of people’s lives, maybe it is time to consider finding ways to lower stress levels.
